Swimming Lessons for the under 4's
Our Pre-school lessons are aimed at babies and children from 4 months up to 4 years. Our aim is to ensure that children achieve confidence, knowledge and enjoyment whilst in the water.
Winchester lessons
We currently have pre-school lessons at Kings' School for our 3 different types of classes:Waterbabes (4 - 18 months)
Introduction to water and basic movement with familar nursery rhymes.
Ducklings (18 months - 3 years)
Water confidence with introduction of floats. Lots of fun and nursery rhymes with parents.
Little Swimmers (3 - 4 years)
For pre-school children - learning basic strokes with emphasis of fun in the water without parents.

Baby Swim Foundation
The Baby Swim Foundation is a FREE network accessible to everyone wanting information about baby swimming and topics relating to this.It was founded by former Olympic & World Swimmer Karen Pickering MBE and owner of the BeBe Group, Lisa Bousted.
Wessex Swim School is a registered associate Swim School and includes the Baby Swim Foundation Programme in our Pre-school sessions.
It's never too early to learn to swim!
Taking your baby swimming is a really rewarding experience. As well as helping build their confidence there are many other benefits. These include:
- Swimming helps develop a baby's fitness; strengthen muscles, ligaments, heart and lungs.
- Swimming develops motor control, agility, coordination and balance.
- Swimming equips baby with vital lifesaving skills and helps develop an awareness of danger & respect for the water.
- Swimming gives lots of skin to skin contact, helping with the bonding especially for dads.
- Swimming will improve appetite, sleep and will help baby to relax.
- Swimming is recreational, fun and enjoyable. It helps teach a baby to share toys and take turns.
- Swimming for the parent can help them meet new people being in a social environment.
- Swimming lessons will help develop a baby’s social stimulation with other children and adults.
- Swimming lessons helps a parent gain in confidence with their baby in a water environment and teaches them new skills.
