If you’re a swimming teacher, aqua aerobic instructor or school teacher and looking for a qualification that will allow you to provide safety cover for swimming sessions, this is the qualification for you! On the course, you’ll learn basic rescue, first aid and resuscitation skills.
Holding a rescue/safety award such as this is also recommended for our swimming teaching qualifications, so this may be included with your swimming teaching course

This is the first course you will need to complete, if you would like to become an STA Swimming Teacher. It is an introduction to swimming teaching, with basic essentials of teaching, assessed by the STA – Swimming Teachers Association.
The STA Award in Teaching Swimming is the perfect step to begin your exciting career as a swimming teacher and with no previous experience required, you can get started right away.
Successfully completing this course would qualify you to teach non-swimmers to improver stages.Min 16 years 5 day course. We Recommend also holding the STA Safety Award.
This is the next stage to your qualification. The course aims to prepare holders to teach, without supervision, pupils of all levels. It enables you to teach all ages and abilities, with in depth assessments of teaching and teaching practices, assessed by the STA – Swimming Teachers Association.
In order to attend this course, you must have successfully completed the STA Level 2 Award Course before hand Successfully completing this course would make you a fully qualified swimming teacher.
